Frequently Asked Questions

If your question isn't covered here, please write to us — we update this page based on what we hear.

  • Is Franklin's Tree House Foundation a registered 501(c)(3)?

We are a Florida non-profit corporation with 501(c)(3) status pending. Once granted, all eligible donations will be tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

  • Is the Foundation anti-midwife?

No. Many midwives do extraordinary work — especially in rural communities. We advocate for transparency so that families can make informed decisions about who delivers their child.

  • How do I research my midwife?

We've published a step-by-step guide at /resources/research-your-midwife/. It covers license verification, disciplinary searches, hospital privileges, malpractice insurance, and transfer-time checks.

  • What is the Confident Kids! program?

A monthly mentorship and enrichment program for foster children ages 8–12, run in partnership with Children in Crisis in Northwest Florida.

  • Can I volunteer if I'm not in Florida?

We're based in Niceville, Florida. Most volunteer roles are local. If you have a skill that's location-independent — writing, research, web — please email us through the contact form.

  • How can I support the Foundation financially?

Until 501(c)(3) status is granted, our primary giving channel is our active fundraiser. See the Donate page for the current link and current programs.

  • I'm a journalist or researcher and would like to speak with the team.

Please email FranklinsTreehouse@gmail.com directly and we'll respond within a few business days.

  • A bill I care about isn't listed on the Florida Legislation page.

Let us know — we review and update that page each Florida legislative session.
